About the Build

Here’s one you don’t see everyday. While a Pegoretti is very rare in itself, the “Ciavete” designation refers to a one off custom paint job. The rider gets to choose base frame paint, a style from their unique offerings , and give some influence to the paint colors used. The ultimate surprise is when the frame shows up and you get to see the finished product! For this build we transferred over some parts from another frame to this one.

The Duende is a little closer to a “traditional” frame than Pegoretti’s other models as it’s also also available in a CX configuration for cyclocross riders and those in search of a capable all-road rim brake frame with room for up to 40mm tires (with the steel fork only, otherwise our standard 28mm limit applies).

While not quite as stiff as the Round, Mxxxxxo or Responsorium, Duende is well suited for someone seeking a comfortable all-day bike that does everything well. The tubing – Columbus ZONA – is still “oversized”, but with its traditional, tapering rear stays and more conventional dropouts, Duende’s aesthetic is more classic than esoteric.

‘Duende’ refers to a heightened state of emotion typically associated with flamenco. However, it’s an energy that appears whenever someone is doing something they love, like cycling.
