On Your Left Cycles is a service-focused bike shop in Louisville. We care about how bikes ride, how they hold up over time, and how they fit into people’s lives. We focus on thoughtful work, honest conversations, and doing things the right way so bikes continue to feel good long after they leave the shop.
How we approach the work
We don’t treat bikes as things to rush through a queue. Every bike that comes into the shop is inspected, talked through, and worked on with intention. Sometimes the right answer is a full service. Sometimes it’s a small adjustment. Sometimes it’s a change that simply makes the bike feel better to ride.
We enjoy chasing marginal gains, comfort improvements, and feel-good upgrades just as much as addressing wear or fixing issues. What matters is that the work makes sense for the rider and the bike.

What to expect when you walk in
When you bring your bike in, it starts with a conversation. We’ll look at the bike together, talk through how it feels and what you’re interested in changing, and walk through options before any work begins.
We value clear communication and realistic expectations so you know what’s happening, why it’s being done, and what to expect.
Our Team
Drew Hartman co-owner/fitter
Drew has a long-standing affinity for road riding and thoughtfully built bikes, and it shows in the way he approaches his work. He brings a steady focus to service, wheel building, and bike fitting, with an emphasis on doing things carefully and doing them right. Whether it is dialing a position, building a wheel, or handling a basic repair, Drew cares about the details and how they come together on the ride.
Derek Fetko co-owner
Derek is usually found behind his computer at On Your Left, scoping out the latest MTB tech article or out volunteering time on the local trails. Coming from BMX, he is after any form of thrill seeking on two wheels, from mountain and road to whatever else is worth riding. That range shows up in how he approaches service, always looking for the next thing that can make riding that much better. If there is riding to be done, Derek has probably already thought about how the bike should feel when it gets there.
Gerrod Archangel service/fit tech
Gerrod enjoys building, tinkering, and learning how things work, and that mindset carries into everything he does in the shop. His work spans service, suspension, wheel building, and bike fitting, with a strong focus on detail and doing things the right way. He is always working toward new skills and better solutions, whether that means refining a setup or digging deeper into how systems works.
Caleb Songer service/sales
Although Caleb enjoys a variety of biking, from road to gravel or even fixed gear, he finds his happiest place is amongst the trees and dirt. This shows in his love for mountain biking and volunteer trail digging. Usually up for a challenge on or off the bike, he also loves stripping down an old or thrashed bike and transforming it into something someone can thoroughly enjoy once again. And whether it’s talking about a new product or sharing bike knowledge, Caleb is always up for sharing his enthusiasm for two wheels.
Our place in the community
We’re part of Louisville’s cycling community and work on bikes that are ridden here year-round in all kinds of conditions. From daily transportation to race bikes and everything in between, we get to see how people actually use their bikes, and that perspective carries through to how we approach service.
Our roots in the local cycling scene matter to us, and they continue to shape how we work today.
If you’re interested in where the shop came from and how those roots developed, you can read more in Our Story.

What matters to us
At the end of the day, we want people to feel confident about their bike and the work being done on it. For us, trust comes from showing up, paying attention, and being honest about what’s needed, and that’s how we try to run the shop.
